Uffculme Sport & Fitness is home to a number of friendly badminton clubs and groups, welcoming players of different ages, abilities and levels of experience.
Whether you’re an experienced player looking for regular competitive games, returning to badminton after some time away, or simply looking for a fun and social way to stay active, there may be a group that’s right for you.

You don’t need to be a part of a club to enjoy badminton at Uffculme Sport & Fitness. Badminton courts are available for hire for just £6.00 per hour, so grab a friend, bring your rackets and enjoy a game!

Badminton Clubs
Mid Devon Badminton For All (MDBFA)
Originally started as a winter activity for cricketers some 25 years ago we have evolved into a fun “badminton for all” group that operates out of Uffculme Sports and Fitness at Uffculme School between 6 and 7 pm on Tuesday evening. It is open to all abilities from learner to a good standard
It is a not-for-profit group, self-funded with no membership fee and charge £3 per session. We use all 5 courts and provide shuttles and non formal training if required. It’s a very social fun group that also meets at the local pub afterwards (non-mandatory). Members must be at least secondary school age but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in the first instance.

Tuesday 6pm-7pm
Tiverton Tuesday Badminton Club
Tiverton Tuesday Badminton Club is a social club for people who want to enjoy playing badminton (not too seriously!) and gain friends. Any ability welcome, ages 16+. We also enjoy a few social gatherings throughout the year.
You'll need your own racquet, and we have tubes of Yonex plastic shuttles.

As you may have already guessed, we play every Tuesday evening from 7-9pm. We have the use of five badminton courts at Uffculme Sports Centre, on the grounds of Uffculme School in Devon. It's 5 minutes from J27 of the M5.
There are closures of this hall during school exams for a few weeks, so do always check our Facebook page for notice of these closures.
Non-members welcome! £5 each night payable by cash or BACS. Alternatively you can join as a member for £105.
A basic understanding of the game is essential, but we are a friendly bunch and we don't take ourselves too seriously.

Culm Valley Badminton Club
Thursday 7pm-9pm
Culm Valley Badminton club is a long-established badminton club that moved to the Uffculme Sports and Leisure Centre not long after it opened in order to take advantage of its excellent facilities for playing badminton including a sprung floor and good lighting.
The club plays on Thursday evening 7-9pm on three courts and in the winter plays matches against other clubs on a Monday evening. We are not able to take beginners but welcome players with experience who want to join us to a free try out club night. If that is you please contact us in advance of turning up at a club night so we can be ready to welcome you and can confirm we have a vacancy.
We offer competitive badminton to league standard in a friendly environment. We have a wide age range of male and female players from age 15 and above some of whom are league players, or ex-league players. We are therefore able to pass on badminton tips to improve your game but we don’t at present offer formal coaching. If you need your racquet restrung we can offer several options including one of our members who restrings racquets. The club is affiliated to Badminton England.
